(Before the journey)

For the past 15 weeks my wife and I have been on a journey of self-discovery.  GayLynn and I have had the privilege of traveling across the nation to Manhattan together and also spending time marveling at the beauty of Sedona on a recent trip to Arizona.  We’ve traveled to Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Theater and spent a great deal of time enjoying the picturesque coastlines of both Oregon and Washington State.  But this journey the past few months didn’t involve traveling to exotic destinations.  This journey involved a quantum-shift in our lifestyles.  Our mindsets were in need of great change to reach our destination of substantial weight loss and optimum health.  Since we began our trek together our very lives have changed from top to bottom (no pun intended) and now as our weight management goals can be seen on the horizon, we’ve stopped simply to give thanks and ask that others join us.  This blog is dedicated to anyone who struggles with being overweight and is tired of the same old scenery. There is new terrain for us to explore through the words of support & encouragement found here.  I believe we’ve finally discovered this new country.  Whether you’ve begun the journey (or you feel you’ve arrived) let’s celebrate the fact that there are viable options to help us reach our dreams.  Now, where are you on the journey?
